Windows "Genuine" Advantage
Apparently this is a new technology that Microsoft have started applying to downloads from microsoft.com, attempting to download the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit 4.0 invokes it. Quite why a download of this variety does, I've no idea. "Bonus" screensavers and their ilk I can understand, but an AppCompat toolkit? Bit of a random one to have WGA on!

Especially as I don't think WGA supports Non-IE browsers due to it using ActiveX to do its dirty work. Maybe this is Microsofts sneaky way of trying to lock even more people into Internet Explorer / make non-IE browsers (read: Firefox) seem "broken" as far as "mom and dad" users are concerned,... Picture this:
"Pah, Firefox doesn't work when I try to download those new wallpapers from microsoft for my pc, its rubbish" and the user toddles off back to IE,...
